	<p>Article intéressant.<br />
2 remarques :</p>
	<ul>
	<li>aux USA, un jeune enseignant/chercheur (assistant professor) est embauché pour un contrat de 3 ans reconductible une fois. A l&#8217;issue des 6 ans, il/elle obtient ou non sa <em>tenure</em>, i.e. la garantie d&#8217;un emploi à vie. Pendant ces 6 ans, il/elle devra avoir démontré son talent pour l&#8217;enseigment et la recherche en publiant un nombre conséquent de papiers de recherche.<br />
En France,  un jeune enseignant/chercheur obtient la garantie d&#8217;un emploi à vie le premier jour. Quelles sont alors ses incitations pour travaiiler dur ?</li>
	<li>aux USA, les universités sont riches, voire très riches. En France, elles sont pauvres, voire très pauvres. Responsabiliser les universités, c&#8217;est leur donner une indépendance financière. A quand une université gérée comme une entreprise ?<br />
Il est grand temps que les universités soient payantes. J&#8217;entends déjà un tollé et entrevoie le gibet qui m&#8217;est destiné avec les mots &#8220;sale élitiste&#8221; peints sur l&#8217;estrade. Mais si les universités sont payantes et que les étudiants perçoivent des bourses pour payer leur études, du point de vue de l&#8217;étudiant, il n&#8217;y a pas de différence. Et en prime, par ce petit jeu comptable, on responsabilise et les universités et les étudiants.
</li>
	</ul>
	<p>Mon expérience en France (Ecole Polytechnique, Ponts et Chaussées, DEA à Jussieu) et aux USA (PhD à University of Pennsylvania à Philadelphie) m&#8217;a montré que la différence principale entre les deux mondes est la responsabilité ou responsabilisation. En France un enseignement qui vit de la manne de l&#8217;Etat. Aux USA, un enseignement qui se finance de lui même, parfois grâce à l&#8217;Etat (e.g. financement pour les projets de recherche).</p>
	<p>Aux USA, l&#8217;enseignement est un business. Il est ouvert à tous, moyennant $$. En France, l&#8217;enseignement est un droit.</p>
	<p>Lequel des deux systèmes est le plus juste ? Je suis au regret de constater que le système le plus juste est le système américain. En France, il est pratiquement impossible de poursuivre certaines études passé un certain âge.</p>
	<p>Entre la discrimination par l&#8217;âge (en France) et celle par l&#8217;argent (aux USA), je préfère la seconde. </p>

WordPress seems to be a nice tool to use and Blogsome is the first site I found to offer free blogging.
